Congratulations to all our young leaders from across the diocese who have completed the Growing Young Leaders course. Bishop Sarah presented certificates to all participants at a special event on Saturday 13 April.
It was a special occasion where the young people talked about what they had learned on the course and the difference it had made to them. They spoke of the new friendships they had made, as well as growing in faith and confidence.
Bishop Sarah spoke to them about ‘fanning into flame their gifts’ (from 2 Timothy 1:6) and to make sure they continue volunteering and taking leadership opportunities.
As part of the course, the young people all completed projects in their local churches, schools or communities, allowing them to discover and develop their gifts in particular ways.
The family, friends, church and community leaders, who had supported the young people throughout the course, joined them at the event to celebrate their achievement.
Andy Harris, Leader of Youth Ministry congratulated the young people: “Well done to all our young leaders from across the diocese. We are very proud of each one of you! A huge thank you to all the team who have once again made this course possible."
