Incumbent for Burnopfield & Dipton, Harelaw & Annfield Plain

The Diocese of Durham is seeking an Incumbent for Burnopfield & Dipton, Harelaw & Annfield Plain (2 churches)

We are looking for a pastoral, missional and encouraging priest for this benefice.  The parishes lie to the north-west of Stanley in a semi-rural setting, with new housing developments in both parishes.   There are two church buildings, one in the village of Burnopfield and the other in the former mining community of Harelaw.

This is a new benefice formed after a thorough process of consultation and discussion in the deanery, which led to pastoral reorganisation.  Both parishes engaged with this process and are fully supportive of the outcome.  It should also be noted that that Burnopfield and Dipton coped well with a longer vacancy because of this process and managed to sustain its outward facing ministry to the local community, including seeing new people come to faith.

This role requires someone who can encourage and envision the congregations in their continuing commitment to serve their local communities.

The vicarage at Burnopfield has recently been refurbished and benefits from solar panels.
